Workspaces and Team Access

A Workspace is a shared Testzilla account for your team. Instead of everyone working in one personal login, you create a workspace, invite teammates into it with a role, and switch into it from the account menu. Everything you build inside a workspace — projects, channels, tests, credits, and billing — belongs to the workspace, not to any one person.

Your own personal account is always there too, shown as My Account in the switcher. Workspaces sit alongside it: you can belong to several and move between them without signing out.

The Workspace switcher

Open the account menu in the app and choose Select Workspace. The switcher lists:

• My Account — your personal account.
• Workspaces — every workspace you are a member of, each showing your role. Click Switch to enter one.
• Pending invites — workspaces you have been invited to but not yet joined, each with Accept or Decline.

When you have unaccepted invites, an alert badge with the invite count appears on the Workspaces entry in the navigation, so a new invite does not go unnoticed.

Create a workspace

1. Open the switcher and create

   From the account menu, choose Select Workspace, then Create Workspace. Give it a name (usually your team, company, or product).

2. Land on the setup page

   Testzilla drops you straight into the new workspace on a short setup page headed Your workspace “<name>” is ready (with your workspace’s name). From here you can pick a plan, Invite your team, or Skip for now.

3. Invite or skip

   There is no hard paywall on a new workspace. Skip for now lands you in the workspace Dashboard immediately. The workspace stays free until you run your first test — that first billable run is where a plan is required (see subscriptions and the run gate).

Note

A workspace is a shared account that no one logs into directly. When you switch into a workspace, you act inside it with the role you were given, and every action is attributed to the workspace.

Invite members

Open Workspace Settings (the settings icon next to a workspace, or Invite your team on the setup page), then use Invite a member:

1. Enter the email of the person to invite.

2. Choose a role (see roles below).

3. Add a personal message (optional) — the Personal message field is included in the invite email to the recipient.

4. Send the invite. Every invitee gets an invite email with an accept link, including people who already have a Testzilla account (who also see the invite on-site in their switcher). Until they accept, they appear in the Members list marked (pending).

Roles

Each member has one role on the workspace, which controls what they can do inside it:

Role	For
Owner	The workspace owner. Full control; assigned when the workspace is created and cannot be removed while they are the only Owner.
Admin	Full management of projects, channels, tests, members, and billing.
Operator	Runs and manages tests, but is not the account owner.
Viewer	Read-only access to the workspace’s projects and results.

The workspace Owner or an Admin can change a member’s role or remove a member from the Members list in Workspace Settings.

Billing contact

A workspace has a Billing contact email (defaults to the Owner) where Stripe sends receipts. Set it in Workspace Settings.
